It’s that time again. Time to dust off the Cookie recipes and start baking.  This recipe for cherry surprise cookies is my favorite.  I have been making them for years and they’re a favorite of Santa’s.  I know because not even a crumb is left on Christmas morning.

INGREDIENTS:

2/3 cup butter flavor Crisco

¾ cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon milk

This cake is a perfect alternative to an apple pie.  It is very easy to make and tastes delicious.  I assume you could also use cherry or any other flavor pie filling, although I have not tried the other flavors yet.

APPLE DUMP CAKE

YOU WILL NEED:

1 box yellow cake mix

1 stick butter

2 cans apple pie filling (the cans I use are 21 oz. Comstock Brand)

1/2 cup brown sugar

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Grease a 9X13 baking dish

Dump pie filling

Dump cake mix over the filling
