FROSTING FOR CUT OUT COOKIES

After you make a batch of your favorite cut out cookies, you can frost with this recipe.  This frosting recipe hardens on the cookie.  You can use a squeeze bottle, spoon or just drizzle on cookies.  I used the recipe to make “ketchup” for French fry cookies.  (see photos)

You will need:

A batch of pre made cut out cookies, I use Martha Stewart recipe.

½ cup confectioner sugar

½ tsp. almond extract, you could also use vanilla, but I like the almond taste better

1 TBSP. milk, I used skim, any is fine

Food coloring optional

Mix first 3 ingredients, If you choose add color, frost cookies with spoon, squeeze bottle, or drizzle.

Enjoy!

TODAY’S PRIZE:  Reston Lloyd Corelle Microwave Bowl Set

I am totally stealing this receipe to make for my kids. They will love this. Now I just have to save the wrappers from McDonalds or find out how I can buy some. The bowls are awesome. New favorite posts to look at for these fantastic receipes and food ideas. Thanks Lisa.

I asked the manager at my fast food store if I could have 30 wrappers for my kids school. The first year they gave me them at no cost. Second year I paid the price of a sauce package. 25 cents. Just ask the worst they will say is no. Glad you like them.—Rae

What an absolutely adorable idea! I’m going to have to try this (and resist the urge to just dunk the cookie fries in the frosting…)

Ooh, I am glad to see what the cookies look like, having read about them a few weeks ago. Thanks for sharing, Rae, you certainly are a talented baker, your kids are lucky to have you creating these fun desserts for them. Thanks to Reviews by Crystal for the referral.
