Beneath The Secrets announcement!

I am super excited to announce that I am going to be releasing BENEATH THE  SECRETS as a serial. Part 1 will pick up right after the Prelude and will release in December! I hope you will be excited about this. I know you want the full book now but I have the 4 parts planned out and I think it will be great fun.  I also hope you will think so!

I can’t wait to bring you Blake and Kara’s story! If you tab down there will be a short blurb as well!

From the Prelude:

Blake Walker left behind the ATF when the drug cartel he was hunting cost him the life of his fellow agent, and fiancee. Now, two years later, he’s working with his brothers at Walker Security, but he’s living fast, hard, and wild, until he reaches the ultimate high…revenge. And he’s close, so close he can taste it. He’s one meeting, one woman, away from being inside one of the money laundering shells the cartel operates.

One woman….
One dangerously hot night….

Part 1

Two paths collide.

Two people who will do anything, including sleeping with the enemy, to avenge or save someone they love. But what if everything isn’t as it seems and the enemy isn’t the enemy at all? Can these two broken people drawn together by their sizzling hot attraction see beyond their pain and their need for vengeance and find the trust they will need to survive a vicious drug lord’s wrath before it’s too late?

was disappointed that the Oct 15 release date was pushed back and resigned myself to an early Spring release at best. now this new setup of a four-part serial stretched over five months is outright infuriating. i won’t begrudge a writer great success for other works; i salute. however, i can’t help but to feel strung along in light of the fact the delayed release was not announced until Oct 15 when i searched on Kindle to dl.

maybe i’ll come back to this series in the future when the sting wears off.

No, excited is not exactly how I feel about this. More like frustrated at feeling duped somehow. It’s like a carrot dangled before us and continually being pulled it back. I understand how release dates change according to publishers, but to not give us the full book that we’ve been patiently waiting for and instead spreading it out over five months as a serial, just doesn’t seem right. Maybe the serial set-up should have been tried with a new series, not one we’ve already become invested in.

Ladies you can still wait until June to read the entire book when its released as a complete. But this gives people who want it sooner a chance to have it sooner. And I plan to do it in a way that I think will be fun and exciting. I’m not duping anyone. I’m giving you options. I can’t get you the complete until June. You can still get the complete in June. I hope that this will make some people happy because they get some mini stories that lead them to June.

I think this is a fun way to do Blake’s story and I am excited about the December 26th release!

I won’t lie, I am disappointed that we won’t get the whole book right off but I love the series and am really looking forward to Blakes Story so at the same time that I’m disappointed I’m also excited to get part of his story! I understand that you’re doing the best you can to get the story out and make as many people as possible happy and I thank you for that!
Things don’t always go to plan and obviously this has all been an upset to shedule for you as well, not just the fans and I’m thankful for the compromise you’ve worked for us! I’ve heard from other authors that this is actually a more expensive route for an author to take and you would actually make more money waiting and releasing the whole book as you’d get more royalties from the various stores so this compromise if for us your fans and not because you’re trying to dupe us! So thank you and I look forward to downloading the first part of Blakes story on the 26th!

I love the series and will wait until June, or when Beneath The Secrets is complete. Reading it serial style is frustrating for me. I’m happy for the success for your other (newer) series and understand that you have to ‘strike while the iron is hot’ with it. If I were in your place I’d probably do the same thing. It does make for disgruntled readers, though. Good luck and Happy Holidays to you and yours.

PS: I’ll put it on my calendar for June, and hope for the best! Thx for being forthright.

I will put it on my calendar to read in June. I have tried the serialized story before and you just lose chunks of the plot and wind up losing interest before you have the whole story in front of you. It is also necessary to keep all the individual file components in the correct order and often times it turns out to be a more expensive purchase for the reader or the author and publishing house finds out that a certain number of people drop out over the course of the serialization so it turns out to be less of a good seller for many authors.

As someone else said this might have been a better experiment with a new series idea or a standalone. Not a book that had a loyal fan base and an announced publication date that you did not withdraw until after the date had arrived. I am glad that your latest book has done so well that it has changed your publisher’s strategy for your career but the time to announce a change to Beneath the Secrets publication date should have been well in advance of the anticipated publication date to avoid this kind of disappointment.

I really enjoyed the previous books in this series. I would have never have tried If I Were You if I hadn’t read and really enjoyed the Tall, Dark ,and Deadly series. I just want this book in the series to have an equal chance at finding an appreciative audience and I wish your publisher had not experimented with the book in a way that may lessen that chance.

I announced well before the release date on my blog and website. And the full book will be available in June for $3.99. The installments will be 99 cents so they will cost no more and those who want to wait can wait and those who want to try the serial can. I hope my readers will enjoy the options this gives them. I’m working through the holiday in eagerness to get his first installment out and I hope it will please those who want it. I’m excited to share Blake’s story.
